I'm back

I am back from the East Coast.

I'm at home and late for bed, but it is important that I share that this trip, was outstanding.

The Feast went above and beyond my expectations. I met extraordinary people. I have loads of goods to tell you about and I am terribly excited to do so.

At the moment however, I have to go to bed! I have to be at work early in the morning and it is already late at night.

Hot Bread

I'm on my way to New York.

I'm leaving in less than 10 minutes - but I want all of you to know, before I get there, that when I get there I'm going to eat some bread.

If you happen to be in New York, you should eat bread too.

This is why.

Hot bread kitchen was started by an Echoing Green fellow and to me it sounds like Something Good.

Here's the deal:

Feast On Good

I’ve been all over the place, figuratively and literally; SF, LA, SF, Yosemite, Job Hunts, New Jobs, Family Stuff, Friends Stuff, Work Stuff, Life Stuff... anyone ever notice how demanding living can be?

Mustaches and Men's Health

Did you know that prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among American men second only to lung cancer? Prostate Cancer, will take the lives of roughly 27,360 men this year of the predicted 192,280 men who will be diagnosed.

Renovation, Mission Pie and Community

Mission Pie, a San Francisco Mission District pie shop works with local farms and locals to maintain a great place to go for tasty treats and a safe, welcoming hang spot.

Butterfly Net

In my recent article on Amnesty International's efforts in alliance with Australia to support surviving comfrot women in their quest for recognition and reparation for the injustices they suffered during World War II, I asked everyone to post their butterflies. Unfortunately there is no comment option on our articles!

So here, I have created our very own butterfly net - catch and release of course.

We would love to see your butterflies!

Uniting for food security and proper nutrition in the face of HIV/AIDS

In English they say ‘united we stand’. The people of Ketembeyi say ‘agali awamu’. Faced with the challenge of a food shortage food and proper nutrition in a community where more and more people were suffering from or because of HIV/AIDS, the people of Kitembeyi village, in Kiboga district, Central Uganda decided to unite.

Make Something Pretty. Do Something Good.

For the next month you can do something pretty.

Amnesty International is partnering with Australia to encourage Japan to acknowledge, apologize and compensate for the atrocities committed against countless “comfort women” during World War II.

Change.

Change. Right?

They say change is something good.

Growth.

Progress.

Evolution is change is evolution is change is progress is growth is change.

I'm a little heartbroken to be leaving this amazing city. Hearts are left here...

I fought tooth and nail against this. I fought myself.

San Francisco has been my city, the way it is for most people who live and love here, and I am going to miss my city dearly.

But I’m leaving. Despite the teeth, I’m packin’ it in, and I bite my nails anyway.

Stressed Out Kids Find Relief In Unique School Program

Bad News: Schools are overcrowded.
The current state of the economy, local, national or global is not conducive to personalized teaching. We live in a time of standardized tests and no time for questions, no time for needs, and little room to breath.

The result: stress. Stressed out kids and stressed out teachers have little or no time to share thoughts, ideas, creativity and personal learning experiences.
