So what does that mean?
Well, according to all of you (the writers of all things "wikied"), I'm someone who has recognized a social problem and am attempting to make a social change.
I see that people are uninspired and disheartened and I want to change that.
There are lots of problems in the world. There are.
I was speaking with a friend today about this, and that some people genuinely believe that we are powerless to have any significant change in the world, that we are frightened, and should be, because the world is a damaged, failing system. There are severely damaged elements. Systems fail. There are lots of things to be afraid of. But know this: people are powerful.
Go to this website: http://www.echoinggreen.org/blog/2009-Fellows these people are not giving in to fear.
Go to this website: http://www.ashoka.org/ neither are they.

I posted the website for the 2009 Echoing Green Fellows (the first one above) because I saw that they had been chosen and I got a little giddy and excited. This is the kind of thing that is exciting to me. This makes me giddy. World changers are being supported and encouraged and born and we get to/ got to know about it! Get excited! It's so exciting.
I also posted the website for All Day Buffet's conference "The Feast" (the third one above) because, well, I'm going and I'm excited. There will be lots of people who want to change the world- and I'm going to want to tell you about all of them!
This is hard work. I get discouraged. I get distracted, or too busy. I go too slow or want too much to happen too fast. When I look at these sites though, and I see that other people are doing it and other people can help me, it helps me. I get excited again.
I am a social entrepreneur and I want us to change the world.
I just wanted to share that with you. That's all.
