Come On People, Let's be Unreasonable Here!

Here's a thought:

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in adapting the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man [& woman]."

-George Bernard Shaw

Shaw's idea is the proverbial backbone of the Unreasonable Institute, a place where brilliant and ambitious social entrepreneurs apply to change the world in a way we can all happily adapt to.

The Unreasonable Institute is a mentor-intensive, 10-week incubation program for young high-impact entrepreneurs who hunger to put the world's greatest problems in a museum (to quote Muhammad Yunus).

Entrepreneurs must pitch their niche in an online market place, and sell us (the reasonable ones!) on their ideas in order to attend the institute and pick the brains of the many expert mentors the founders have pulled to guide them on their paths.

To learn more about the Market Place and how it works have a look at the short video and overview here.

To get out there and encourage some unreasonable behavior have a look at the 38 unreasonable finalists and cast your vote here.

A friend and an inspiration sent me an email recently. He asked that I support him in reaching the pinnacle of one of "the greatest undertakings of his life," how could I say no to that!?

Here's me helping, believing absolutely in the power of unreason and hoping his pinnacle (the selection of the first 25 entrepreneurs to his team's new institute) is as good as the something good I am positive it can be.

Let's be honest, we're not all unreasonable, in fact many of us take pride in our ability to adapt, change and evolve with our environment.

So let's support people who aim shape our environment into something we can all gladly adapt to.
