Oh The Humanity

I lost my wallet.

South Africa: globalist, regionalist and striving for survival.

For those of you who don't know me personally, I received my Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and wrote my thesis on South African Foreign Policy, so this peaked my interest today:

"All South African babies under the age of one will be treated if they test HIV-positive, President Jacob Zuma has announced in a major policy overhaul."

Here's to Up-And-Coming

Amazing things are bound to happen.

Someone told me recently they are not quite clear on what it is that SG is intended to do, and well, the phrase above maybe, sort of, a little bit sums it up...

Something Good is meant to share with you, all the good that is happening, will be happening and can happen.

A Bit On Connecting

You may remember the blog about the hug. I've had more hugs, recently, in the form of other things, umbrellas, emergency exits, water bottles and figs. I'm re-reading, editing and realizing that I am coming up with more and more that I could add here. Ways in which I have shared with people, connected and hugged. This isn't meant to be warm and fuzzy, just know that this is about connecting, my connections, my proverbial hugs and a hope that I can inspire you to hug too.

I'm Full

The feast, as mentioned in my last blog, went above and beyond my expectations, and here's why: Being in the beginning stages of a start up social business like Something Good is terrifying, especially when trying to go it alone. I have no idea what I am doing. I hit the ground running about a year ago only to scrape my knees, brush myself off and discover that the finish line is an undefined concept that I can't Google or Wiki or otherwise lazily discover. Not only that, but i can't even see the finish line.

I'm back

I am back from the East Coast.

I'm at home and late for bed, but it is important that I share that this trip, was outstanding.

The Feast went above and beyond my expectations. I met extraordinary people. I have loads of goods to tell you about and I am terribly excited to do so.

At the moment however, I have to go to bed! I have to be at work early in the morning and it is already late at night.

Hot Bread

I'm on my way to New York.

I'm leaving in less than 10 minutes - but I want all of you to know, before I get there, that when I get there I'm going to eat some bread.

If you happen to be in New York, you should eat bread too.

This is why.

Hot bread kitchen was started by an Echoing Green fellow and to me it sounds like Something Good.

Here's the deal:

Feast On Good

I’ve been all over the place, figuratively and literally; SF, LA, SF, Yosemite, Job Hunts, New Jobs, Family Stuff, Friends Stuff, Work Stuff, Life Stuff... anyone ever notice how demanding living can be?

Renovation, Mission Pie and Community

Mission Pie, a San Francisco Mission District pie shop works with local farms and locals to maintain a great place to go for tasty treats and a safe, welcoming hang spot.

Butterfly Net

In my recent article on Amnesty International's efforts in alliance with Australia to support surviving comfrot women in their quest for recognition and reparation for the injustices they suffered during World War II, I asked everyone to post their butterflies. Unfortunately there is no comment option on our articles!

So here, I have created our very own butterfly net - catch and release of course.

We would love to see your butterflies!
